We liked the people at Chateau Madeleine. We had a good visit over there. My son took me to see it and he preferred that one for some reason. We ate dinner there, and it was very good. Everything was very nice about it. It was brand new, and that's the reason I liked it so well. The smells were good. It was just overall nice. The staff was very nice. I know the history of the place and that's one of the reasons I liked it.

My wife is in Chateau Madeleine. It's an assisted living and memory care, but the memory care unit I don't think meets the specs that I need for insurance coverage. They have a very well-rounded recreation program. The nursing staff is attentive, and the food is excellent. She's got plenty of room for her needs, and it's well laid out. There's always something to do for the residents. They have travelogues and movies in their theater, entertainment downstairs, and they have live entertainment as much as they can, usually a singer, a violinist, and a piano player. It's really been an excellent place. She's got the regular assisted living and extra nursing care from a hospice outfit. It's brand new, but they picked an excellent location with a fishing lake, a pier, and dog run. It's a well thought out, well planned, three-story building, very open in terms of the trees and the lighting and everything else. Since my wife physically requires more, they've gone out of their way to take care of her. She needs somebody almost constantly, and she's not as mobile as the rest of the residents.

I visited Chateau Madeleine several times. It's brand new and it looked extremely welcoming and was very nice. My only negative about it was the apartments were extremely small. They had a fantastic chef who when we were there had just won a competition among all of the assisted living facility chefs in the area. The menu was fabulous and their dining room was open almost 24 hours a day. You don't have to have a particular time to go to eat. They sent me newsletters and things afterwards and there's always something going on there. It's more like a resort than a retirement home. They're building a swimming pool. They had major trails and buses that take people around. They're right next to a very nice grocery store and shopping center, and they can actually get there by golf cart. They had a wonderful cocktail lounge, and the outdoor areas were nice. This was before the pandemic, and I had two meals there.
