My grandmother is in the Washington Nursing Facility and has been for 2 years. She is very happy there because there are many amazing staffers that make her day pleasant. She feels as if she is in a community that cares about her and wants to give her a happy life, rather than a depressing facility that makes people depressed. When I visit, I never dread going because all of the residents are so happy with the many activities available to them. There are arts and crafts that go on at certain times, there are games, movies, and dogs even come to visit as a therapeutic addition to the residents. The staff is well-versed in geriatrics and how to keep elders healthy and happy. I always feel very comfortable leaving after visiting my grandmother because I know she is in good hands. I think one of the most important part of an assisted living facility is that they know how to keep the morale of the residents high. I think Washington Nursing Facility does an excellent job of this.
