I toured The Hearth at Glastonbury. They were very detail-oriented in providing total care for the people that live there. One of the most important things from my mother was her spiritual needs and even in the midst of the pandemic, they have pastoral care and services weekly of multiple denominations, which is something we didn't find in other places. They have physical therapy services on the premises, so people don't have to leave the facility. They also have very liberal transportation in terms of getting people around the community. Most of the other places had transportation, but not as frequent as the Hearth did. So, it was definitely at the top of the list of places that we would consider. The thing that is important to me is what happens if the person runs out of insurance coverage or funds while they're out of the facility. I've talked to agencies, and they've educated me on something called a continuum of care. There are certain assisted living places where they have a nursing home attached to the facility. And if they can no longer afford assisted living, they don't get shipped off somewhere and they transition over to the nursing home section of the community. When I spoke to the Hearth, it was clear to me that if somebody is there and they run out of money and their insurance doesn't cover it, that's the end of the road. They said almost nobody leaves there, but they did not offer solutions. They said most people are self-pay. So, if you can afford it, it's a great place. But once insurance and assets run out, they want money to ten thousand dollars a month, as most places do. They said there's a state program if somebody applies for Medicaid, where they'll support the cost of their stay up to $2000 a year. But there was a huge gap, and their expectation at that facility is it's like a country club as long as you can afford it. If it's a place where you can put your family member and know that someday they're not going to be kicked out, it's a better feeling.

The Hearth at Glastonbury was nice. The apartment was nice, but there's a lot of walking. They had an outside gathering area and a nice courtyard. The dining room was nice, and the puzzle room was nice. The people were nice. It was a very clean place. The staff I met was nice. They all knew the residents' names. Because of Covid, they wouldn't let people in the dining room, so they're looking after the clients. They've got a lot of doctors' offices just all around it, so if they wanted, they're there. It's expensive, but they have the ability for assisted living with two aides, even though you'd be paying for that. They said they have yoga and an exercise room.

My mom will be moving into The Hearth at Glastonbury. I like the cleanliness and the nice people. The apartment is very nice, roomy and clean. The staff were very nice, very informative and very knowledgeable. I did not have a meal there, but I did check out the dining area; everything looked fine. There is a gym, a rec center, an outside patio, a rehabilitation room, a card room, and there is a luncheonette. Outside they have very nice barbecues, tables, chairs, and nice landscaping.

We liked the layout of The Hearth at Glastonbury. It was very clean, well kept, and new. Their staff was very nice, very informative, they spent a lot of time with us hearing about my mom, and we had no complaints. The dining area looked fine, they had a beauty shop, recreation area, a library, and a place they called the cafe where they had coffee and tea all day long.

My mom has moved into The Hearth at Glastonbury. It is very nice and I really like it. They have very nice interior, a nice dining area, and nice general living spaces. The room itself is very nice. So far, so good. It has been going on for second week but so far, everyone has been very nice and helpful. We are just getting my mom settled. She is still exploring their activities, but it looks like they have very nice activities. We went to their Christmas party, which was fun. They had a local band come in and give a singing performance. There are other activities. It is just getting my mom engaged in those things over time. Well, it is good value and cost.

I visited this community looking at options for my parents. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and the overall aesthetic of the community, it was cozy and comfortable- new but not stuffy. I felt that my parents would really fit in as there were many other couples. The person who gave me a tour was very knowledgeable and gave a lot of insight as to the different care scenarios they can manage. I especially like that there is a nurse in the community at all times in the event there is an emergency.

The Hearth at Glastonbury was interesting. The apartments were satisfactory. They had a game room, a gym, and regular organized activities. They offer three meals a day, housekeeping, and transportation in the region. I like that it's familiar since we've lived in Glastonbury for many years. The staff member who assisted me was helpful and answered my questions. The place itself was spotless and very new.

I'm very happy with the Hearth. They're taking good care of my mom. She moved in six weeks ago, and her apartment was a glorified hotel room. It's a brand-new facility and better than the ones in the area. The staff and nurses are very good, follow up on everything, and give her medications.
