We have chosen Atria Grand Oaks because of its location. My father has already moved in. There haven't been any concerns. He is enjoying his time there. The staff members have been really helpful. He likes the food too. They have activities, but he hasn't really joined in on them yet. They do games. They have like a gym, and they have movie nights. They have all different options for them. We haven't had any concerns whatsoever so far. It's super clean. I always seem them cleaning. They're always making sure that it's clean and well-kept. Assisted living is expensive, but his needs are being met, and it's a good facility. It's also local to where my family lives, and it's across the street from the shopping center.

Everything is in one building in Atria Grand Oaks. It's more like a skilled nursing facility to me, but the staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I didn't see anyone there. It seemed like none of the residents were out and about. They were all kind of in their rooms, and I didn't like that. With the other facilities, people were up and about and out in the sun.
It was really a beautiful facility when you look at it though; it was clean and laid out well. I liked the location too because it's right on Thousand Oaks Boulevard and right across the street there are some shops and restaurants. There's a little grocery store right across the street. There's the Thousand Oaks garden around too. It's a nice place.

My mother will be moving into Atria Grand Oaks. I like the location, they seem helpful, and they offered two months of free room and board. It is clean and looks well kept up. It looks like they're taking good precautions for COVID, and it hads a nice feel to it. We felt comfortable there. Everyone there was engaging, friendly, and welcoming. I just felt like it was the right place.

I looked at Atria Grand Oaks. It's like going to a ten-star restaurant, and having the chef bring dinner to your table. I've been in and out, I've been up and down the hallways, I've been in the rooms, it's an amazing experience for anyone, the staff is always professional, and what I liked about it especially is no matter who, what, why, if they work there, they're asking you, "Can I help you?" or "How can I assist you?" And you know how good that this extends over to the patient care, because that's what you're leaving there, your elderly parents that have special needs (especially at night). It feels like a very safe place to leave them or to have them being taken care of. The staff was lovely, and the follow up was amazing as well.

My mom had been in a large community called Atria Grand Oaks, which is institutionalized hotel style living. I don't have much good to say about them. It was understaffed and very poorly run. My mom actually went without eating for more than a week before anybody noticed. Then they told her if she wanted to eat, she had to come downstairs regardless of her pain level. That's why we moved her out of there very quickly. She deteriorated hugely in the time she was there. She went from ambulatory and active to completely non-ambulatory and very inactive to the point where she was literally starving to death in her room without people noticing. They had gone through multiple managers. They went through three different directors and one interim director when she lived there. They were very good during the fire. They did evacuate everybody, but it took us 48 hours to find out where our parents were before anybody contacted us to let us know their condition. It was completely disorganized and very poorly run. The room was overpriced and dirty. They had nice amenities. They had a pool, putting green, classes, and activities. Those were good, but not if you need care. The dining area was very large and set up like a restaurant dining area. However, the food was horrendous. We had eaten there a couple of times and we felt unwell following the meals every single time. The activities were very good if you're active and ambulatory, but if you're not, there's no activity for you. It was very expensive at every level of care that you could need.

Atria Grand Oaks was very presentable looking and quite inviting. They had excellent dining facilities, and the meals were good. My wife was not quite as enthused about the meals as I was. They had a wonderful salad bar every noon and evening and wonderful breakfast; they had 3 meals a day. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, warm, and sincere. The people were so interesting and had fantastic life stories; I got to know a lot of them. We didn’t think we are ready for assisted living. They had something every day, like a new movie shown twice a day and all kinds of physical training things from yoga to balance work. It’s very well done as we took part of that. We enjoyed ourselves.

Atria Park of Grand Oaks was very nice, clean, well run, and professionally managed. The representative was very nice. They had entertainment, a card room, and an area for watching movies or TV. The company representatives were very nice, professional, and went out of their way to answer my questions. I wouldn't hesitate to move there.

Atria Park of Grand Oaks is very nice,and the furnishings are all very homey. It's beautiful, and it's like a hotel. I'd like to live there. My folks are in the assisted living. It's full service. They can feed and bathe, or they can just give them their pills or leave them alone. It all just depends on what the individuals need. Once or week or so, they have a little outing where they all get into a bus and go on a little sightseeing tour, and sometimes they go to fast food restaurants. If they need to go the grocery store or drug store, they have a van that will take people to go pick up things at the store. They have two separate dining areas for assisted living and independent living. I had a really good and delicious chicken salad sandwich. Once a week or so, they bring the whole assisted living people into the main dining room, and when I went out there, I had a special order burger. They have a beautiful salad bar, and you’re waited on at the table as if you were in a restaurant. It was very nice.

My impression of Atria Park of Grand Oaks is very positive, but it's very expensive. The staff had very good introductions and took us around to look at some of the living quarters. We had lunch, and it was perfectly good. The rooms are nicely arranged and modern, but they're very small.

I am not thrilled with Atria Grand Oaks. My mother is comfortable there, but they have a lot of administrative problems. It is an attractive place. It is very nice, and the people are lovely. Most of the staff are very nice. They had a twelve and a half percent rent increase within a 9-month period of time, which was outrageous.

I did a quick tour at Atria Oaks, and they didn’t have an opening. The staff was very nice, but the apartments were small with 1-bedroom or single rooms.

Atria Grand Oaks was pretty. They had the levels of care that we wanted. However, the rooms were not of the size that my brother-in-law wanted. They were small. One of the things that was kind of a disadvantage was the fact that social activities were located on different floors. It was kind of a disadvantage for people who have problems going up and down the elevator like him. Whitney, the salesperson, was outstanding. She did a wonderful job. We were there for lunch, and the food was outstanding.

Atria Grand Oaks seems like a very nice facility. The staff was friendly, and the residents that we encountered seemed happy and comfortable there. Its setting had a lot of attractive features. The rooms seemed big enough. They had bigger ones, but we didn't look at it because we were looking within our budget, so they showed us rooms that were affordable for us.

One time we did tour the Atria before mother got real bad. It’s very nice. I know they have different levels there and it’s just cost prohibitive. It’s up to $7000 to $8000 a month. They have their own individual apartments. They come in either 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, 1-bath, and 2-baths. A lot of them have a little kitchenette and a refrigerator where you can do your own cooking and a living room. It was very nice. I liked it a lot, but that’s for someone who can function on their own and my mom cannot do that at this point.

Atria Grand Oaks was nice, but there's a lot of traffic around the area and not enough places to walk the dog. The units are very small, and it was very expensive. What I liked most about them was their activities. They had a lot more than other places, and they were very well organized. Their activity director was outstanding and a huge plus. She was very energetic and very well organized. There's a minimal amount of walking because it's a smaller facility and it's more compact. So there's less walking, which is either a plus or a minus depending on who you're talking to. The food wasn't the best, but it was OK. They had a nice big salad bar. They have a small pool, a library, and a nice little garden area outside.

After visiting several facilities, my aunt selected Atria Grand Oaks. She is now living there, and the place is very beautiful. They have balconies off the rooms. It's very clean, and they have very good food. The Atria was the only facility that we saw that had a stackable washer/dryer in the unit. They have a small gym, a salon, and a swimming pool.

We had lunch and talked to them and had a little tour at Atria. I thought it was beautiful; it's pretty fancy. The rooms are lovely but small to me. That's one of the reasons we liked the other place, and they're more expensive. They have full kitchens but a beautiful restaurant to eat in. They invited us to have lunch so we could see what the food is like. It's very nice. They have really good food and a variety of choices. It's very clean. They'll drive you around if you have a doctor's appointment. They do exercise. It's pretty and it's new, so somebody going into assisted living who lives in a pretty place is going to be interested in it.

We went to Grand Oaks. That was our second runner-up in Thousand Oaks. My dad and my stepmother really liked it but they were so expensive, $9,000 a month for a 2-bedroom. We really wanted to go there but the cost was astronomical. The people who worked there was wonderful and the facilities were beautiful. We were very impressed.

I have been a resident for a few years. I enjoy living here. I enjoy my apartment, my balcony, the pool, the common areas, the activities, the facility's gardens, and the views. The staff persons are always polite and eager to please. The location is outstanding - "The Lakes" across the street with shops and restaurants, the "Gardens of the World" up the boulevard, the "Civic Arts Center" nearby.
However, on the negative side, the food service has been declining during the last few months. The quality, quantity, and variety is not as great as it was. At times, the meat is tough, the selection has lessened, and the food is not always served hot. Food is a prime concern since we indulge three times daily. I am under the impression the food budget has been cut. This situation can be resolved, and hopefully will be given some attention.
In conclusion, I am happy that I made the decision to live here. I have seen other facilities. Grand Oaks is the best.

The setting is lovely near The Lakes. Easy for walking to pretty areas. The apartment is comfortable also. Unfortunately, services have been cut back. Even the food variety and amount is smaller. Recently, my relative was told he could only have 1 slice of pizza because they are cutting back. Many of the foods that were served are no longer served. It makes one think there are financial issues that may be happening. My relative loves the location, but if the downward trend continues, we may be forced to look for another place which is a shame.
