Who we are:

Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) serve persons 60 and older. We provide room, board, housekeeping, supervision, and personal care assistance with basic activities like personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and walking. Facilities usually centrally store and distribute medications for residents to self-administer.

This level of care and supervision is for people who are unable to live by themselves but who do not need 24-hour nursing care. They are considered non-medical facilities and are not required to have nurses, certified nursing assistants or doctors on staff. Other terms used to refer to this level of care are assisted living facilities, board and care homes, rest homes and that component of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) that provide personal care and supervision.

Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly or Assisted Living Facilities must meet care and safety standards set by the State and are licensed and inspected by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing.

Mary
A Loving Living Home Care was well maintained and clean. The lady that gave the tour was very genuine, very friendly, and very willing to answer my questions, even though she hadn't been there very long. She showed me the facility, answered my questions, and pointed things out to me about the way a person would be living there. So, that was very helpful. They had alarms for the doors, so every time an outside door is opened, they were aware. Someone can't just walk out on their own. It's laid out well. They had both a private room and a shared room with an attached bath. The sight lines for the two workers that were there seemed to be open so they could keep an eye on everyone in the main room where they were. This is a house that's been converted, so it's still a home. The outside patio was laid out well with ramps so someone could manage to get down to the patio and sit outside in the fresh air. That was very appealing to me that they'd taken the time to make it more like a home. They were the best board and care option I had seen that would fit what my mom would want if she were to share a room.
