they are UNDERSTAFFED and the manager treats their staff terrible. they have a high turn over rate for a reason. if you love your family members do not send them here. this is not a good place for anyone.

I liked Melrose Gardens & The Cottages. I put a deposit down there. I liked the staff and the rooms. They seemed friendly and knowledgeable. The list of activities looked like the right list to help my parents with cognitive stimulation and socialization. It's a good location for the family. The dining area was a little small, but the facility was small. I saw a sit-down exercise program when I was there.

Melrose Gardens was really nice. The staff seemed to be very professional and caring. The rooms and apartments looked pretty clean and nice. The food was good, and the dining room was nice. They had a wellness trainer, and one thing unique about them was that they actually have light weight training for the people.

This looked like a lovely facility on a tree lined street in a relatively safe neighborhood. I know that this neighborhood can get noisy at night. Parking was extremely difficult near the facility and I had to eventually park two blocks away. The rooms were generous in size and were well maintained. The common rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. Everyone who worked there seemed to have about the same level of commitment and expertise as most facilities I have visited. One thing that stood out to me was that the schedule of activities seemed to be provided to only satisfy the requirement of having one. In other words, I didn't feel confident that the activities actually took place. Nothing was going on at the time I toured and and I am always a bit leery when "board games" are listed as an activity. The price was a bit less than other places in the area so I seriously considered moving my family member here figuring that I could provide the activities for her. Ultimately though, I chose another solution.
