A close relative was under the care of Lake view residential care and because of the condition of my relative they told us we needed to remove him or medicate him to zombified state to make him easier to care for. There is one (1) caregiver for a twelve (12) hour shift per six (6) Alzheimer's patients. Granted the accommodation is fantastic as it's a multi million dollar home but the cost is $4000.00 a month per room, a standard single room. Food is good and is fresh and all food groups, served to the patient if needed. But as soon as it takes more than one person to care for a patient then the work becomes too much and the patient needs to go. It states on their site that they "should" be able to accommodate patients for religious services, doctors appointments, etc.. Nope. You want your relative to go to church or get to an appointment, you need to take them yourself. Any activities are watching television in the great room. No walks, no sunshine, no reason to strive for better. The care, in my opinion, is bottom of the barrel. For example, Alzheimer's patients need fluids just as much as any other human or animal, right? Well how about no fluids pushed so a fever and week long constipation ensued due to little to no fluids ingested. Then you need to remove him after 2 weeks of "care" because the patient is too much work. DONT ACCEPT THE ALZHEIMER'S PATIENT IF YOU CANT CARE FOR AN ALZHEIMER'S PATIENT!!!!!!!
