My father was a resident of Lakeside Manor in Lakeside. It's a very nice, private place. It's board and care. It's very country. It's nurse-owned, but the care providers are CNAs. They're extremely great cooks, they would do great meals. Hospice was providing his medical care, unfortunately, people fall and unfortunately, he fell and broke his hip. I would recommend it. It's a memory care and long-term facility, but they allow them to be very independent, which is very nice. I think during the day, they are very watchful and good because some don't move around a lot. My dad was getting stronger and did, and I think he had a false sense that he could do anything like he used to, which is why he fell in the middle of the night to get up to urinate. So, instead of pushing the nurse button, which there is, he decided just to do it on his own. That's when he fell. So obviously, they can't be everywhere, but I think he could have fallen at a hospital or even at home. It's memory care and assisted living. They only have 14 residents, so it's very private and small. The nurse just purchased it from the original owners. It's been established for 28 years. Kay, the nurse owner now, is continuing with all the employees that were there long term before. So that ambiance and stability in the staff were very well known. Everything's home-cooked. There's a common kitchen. They don't encourage it, and very few people, eat alone. Everybody eats at the common table in a common room, or they have a patio area where family members could come and share the meal with their loved ones. It's nice because that helps keep them from being isolated. It's very clean and well-maintained. There's a white picket fence around, and walkways around the main buildings. All of that has flowers and seating areas and bird feeders. So, it's very country; a lot of mature trees. You don't feel like you're in a kind of a hospital kind of environment, or you're feeling like you're in someone's home. That's why I picked it.

Lakeside Manor Elderly Care is a home in a neighborhood that has been converted into a memory care facility with other buildings added. I really liked the staff. The place where they eat wasn't my favorite though. There are two houses that they can live in and you have to walk to the other house to eat. The grounds were not flat and the residents have to walk down a hill and that did not seem safe to me. It's smaller and older than the other places I saw, but it was clean. They have a TV. The rooms were adequate and the staff was so kind.

My father spent the last 16 months of his Alzheimer’s journey at Lakeside Manor, and I could not have been more pleased with the level of care that he received during that time. When evaluating memory care units, I realized I needed to consider both the quality of the physical facilities and the quality of care that would be provided. I concluded that Lakeside Manor’s facilities are more than adequate, but the quality of care was off the charts. Johanna and her team provide excellent care, with a lot of compassion and love thrown in free of charge! Johanna became “family” as she provided guidance and walked with us through our difficult journey.

This fine facility is "home" to our 89 year old Mom, who raised 8 kids. The caregivers are kind & capable, & residents are treated with love & respect. Our Mom considers her caregivers & fellow patients her family! We consider her caregivers angels on earth.

These good people and this facility are the greatest! My Mom,diagnosed with Dementia, They take great care of her.. She's deteriorated due to the disease but she still Tell's my 4 sister's and 3 brothers she's home. They are A Godsend. They care enough to understand her through non verbal communication. They love her as much as we do. They treat her with love and respect for her 89 years. They honor her wants, needs and dignity!

Lakeside Manor has beautiful grounds with flowers and gardens. The people and the staff are nice. They sing songs that Dad can remember. They have a piano player who comes in once a week, and they do arts and crafts and other things. Dad has a fully furnished private room and a shared bathroom. They have a sitting area where the residents can watch TV and an outside patio where they can eat.

My mother was in Lakeside Manor. The experience was great. The staff was patient, loving, and accommodating. She was in a clean and spacious room, and they had activities, like music and crafts.

I’ve only got the best to say for Lakeside Manor. They were wonderful, and they were very good; I couldn’t complain. When I went over there I said, "I want to be here if I get that bad." They took really good care of my husband. Then it got to a point where we had hospice come in, and he passed away. It was a very homey and a very friendly place. All the caregivers were wonderful. The staff was very accommodating and very supportive to the family too. I would recommend it to anybody who's in the situation I was.
