The physical therapy folks are great, after that everything goes downhill quickly. The facility is very shorthanded; you push the button & you may wait over an hour for someone to show up. Often, when they do, they say “I’ll be right back” & you may wait another hour. Most of the caregivers are nice & are trying their best, with the notable exception of one in particular. When my wife was checked in, I handed the meds nurse a detailed & itemized list of her prescribed meds; one of the critical ones was for her polymyalgia. She was there 23 days & was going rapidly downhill; dehydrated, couldn’t eat, couldn’t sit up because her blood pressure would crash, etc. She kept saying “Something is wrong, I need a blood test,” NONE was ever done. Then I got a call from my wifes rheumatologist & he asked if she was still taking her med. The meds nurse was right there so I had her look it up on her computer & she said “No.” Two days later, after getting the med, she started feeling 100% better. After almost 40 days there, she was way weaker than when she arrived. Now she has been home 11 days, & is making noticeable daily progress, although still has quite a way to go.

I am very pleased with the care my husband received during the 3 weeks he was in rehab after complications from heart surgery. Every question, concern and request was met with respectful listening and real results. I give it 4 stars only because the doctor on staff seems to be something of an invisible force but I suppose that is par for a Nursing Home. The facility is older but clean and being systematically upgraded. Food is decent too. The time of admittance was during the summer, the "slower" season for Yuma.

My mom-in-law has been living in Life Care for two and a half months. We liked the staff, and the location was very convenient. The place was clean, and the room was nice and clean, including the beddings. They have one to a room or two to a room, depending on what’s going on. The staff is excellent: very knowledgeable, professional, and caring. I noticed they have different activities, but we haven’t gotten to that point yet because my mom-in-law is not mobile.
