Grandview Terrace is very nice. It seems like they thought of everything somebody might need living in a community like that, and everything is right there on site. The facility was beautiful, and the staff was very helpful. Everything was clean, spacious, and I thought that was very nice. The food was amazing. We went to a brunch, they had a ton of different choices, and everything was delicious. Theres a board where people can choose their clubs and activities that happen on-site, they take people to plays, shows, and a variety of different things in the city. They have a swimming pool, fitness center, salon, massage, arts and crafts, and a small movie theater.

Grandview has been open about a year. It’s top of the line with state of the art facilities and also very expensive. They had ILF, ALF, and memory care, and for us, continuing care would not be logical financially. Independent apartments would be a buy in and are starting to show some age, but they were renovating. There was a very positive attitude by the residents, and they really like living there. The assisted living and the memory care were new; it's very nicely lit hallway with rooms off to the side. They have a dining area that the residents could sit at a table for a formal dinner. There is sort of like an elevated bar, so they could have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a lovely courtyard, and they have a memory stimulation room with TV and interaction.

My mother lived for many years at Grandview Terrace, so I spent many years there everyday with her. They’re first rate; they get very high ratings everywhere from everybody. They’re good about taking care of things. If you need anything done, you phone the desk and they are there.
She loved being there. It’s a much bigger place with lots more people. Their food was good; everybody was pleasant. I never once had to go make a complaint. Also, my mother went through all of the stages of life care.
My mother was in a lovely 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment. It was on the first floor, so she could easily walk out to get in her car and drive when she was driving. I liked it because I could drive up almost to her door. It’s a 6-story building, and when you get up higher, you have better views than my mother had.

Grand View has large rooms, and the 2-bedroom I looked at was very nice and well maintained. It was an older facility, and they seem to offer more options to settle in. You don’t need to pay upfront to get in. The main dining room was very nice, it looked like hotel dining, and they also have 3 or 4 cafes located throughout the facility. I had lunch in one of the cafes and it was okay.

I went to Grandview Terrace. You have to buy-in, so it was very expensive. The people treated me very well. I have a friend there who just bought a two-bedroom, but it was $275,000 and not everybody has that money, including me. They have exercise rooms, but you only get 10 meals a month. I have eaten there, and the food is very good.

My parents are moving to Grandview Terrace. It’s wonderful, and they really have been working well. They’re renovating all the rooms as people leave. The whole building is going to be renovated in the next five years. They’ve got a new food service which is well known across the country. They have an activity board, you cannot be bored, there’s something going on all the time from lectures, movies, to bus trips, and exercise programs. They have covered parking, but they don’t have a garage for the car.

Everything was wonderful, the food, the apartments, the service but it's just not affordable for us. They have 7 dining rooms, they were all lovely. The staff was very polite, very courteous and very helpful.

At the time they moved in my grandfather and his wife did not need assisted living, but chose Grandview Terrace because they offered assisted living. When we would visit we had to sign in at the front desk and have the guests we were visiting notified before being allowed to go to the elevator and make our way to their place. They had a very nice two bedroom apartment that felt as homey as their previous house. The kitchen was much smaller but they were able to eat most of their meals at the dining room on property with other residents. They had many chances to socialize and get out of their apartment. Last New Year's Eve they organized a dance for the residents and brought in male dance students from a local school to dance with the widows - a very nice touch. The facilities were impeccably clean and the grounds were beautiful. When my grandfather said he was moving into a facility like that I had visions of a depressing place but was pleasantly surprised by how nice Grandview Terrace is, which would make the waiting list they were on for a few years make sense. It must be incredibly popular amongst the elderly in the greater Phoenix area.

When we first arrived at Grandview Terrace I was quite shocked at how beautiful the facility was. The facility is either 5 or 6 stories tall but I was also surprised at how spacious each apartment was for the residents, the apartments were quite a bit bigger than most actual apartments I have ever been in. The amenities were above and beyond what I had seen at any other facility, with nurses to check in as needed but also enough privacy for the residents that it didn't feel as though we were really visiting our relatives in an assisted living setting at all, more like we were visiting them at their home.

I have been in this facility several times now as a visitor. When you first walk in the main entrance, they have very friendly staff there to greet you. As a security precaution to the residents, every person that comes in must sign in and sign out when they leave. I have gone in there because they have a branch of my banking instition inside, and it is closest to where I live. I think that is so nice for the residents who need to do their banking. It's also convenient for me! During Christmas time, I went in and the place was beautifully decorated. After that I went in one morning and I was there too early for the bank and I had to wait. I asked if there was any coffee available, and I was directed to the onsite restaurant. There were senior citizens in there talking and having their breakfast and seeming to enjoy themselves very much. The mail boxes are inside the facility and basically, if the residents want to "get out of the house" without going outdoors, there seems to be plenty of areas to go and socialize within the facility. It is also close to the hospital and medical providers which would be convenient for the residents that have health issues. They do allow small pets which I think is very nice as well. I really enjoy going into Grandview Terrace. I would live there if I was old enough and had the money.
