Devon Gables Rehabilitation Center’s primary focus is residents’ health and safety. The facility is a 312-bed skilled nursing community that aims to re-create the feel of home. The community is designed in a southwestern style, and compassion is a golden rule among employees. The facility offers several levels of care.

Both short-term and long-term stays are available and can include independent living, assisted living or a living arrangement with round-the-clock care. Pets are welcome with a one-time fee, and there are both private and semi-private living options.

Food is an important aspect of the community, and residents can choose from a variety of cuisine that meets their dietary needs. Residents can choose tasteful, nutritious meals based on low-sodium, low-fat, diabetic-friendly and other restrictions. Monday nights at the community’s dining room are candlelight dinners, and private dining and room service are also available.

Devon Gables also boasts an array of other amenities, including psychiatric and psychological services, social services, a beauty and barbershop and housekeeping and laundry.

My grandmother is in Devon Gables Rehabilitation Center. It looks like a regular rehab facility and it's older, but it's clean. The staff is friendly. She seems happy with the food. They have a beauty shop, a courtyard, and physical therapy. She has a studio apartment, and it has a little kitchen area with a private bathroom. We mainly chose them because someone she knew was there.

This facility has a home-like feel to it with its layout and decorations. The colors are warm and inviting. They are adequately staffed with medical professionals. Some rooms for patients and residents have a home-like feel to them, while some have more of a hospital look and feel to them. The long-term residents have rooms with furniture, a television, a closet and a small patio. Patients who are there short term have rooms that resemble more of a hospital, but the employees try to incorporate a home-like feeling by adding decorations. There are daily activities provided for the patients such as exercise sessions, arts and crafts, bingo night and more. The facility has a cafeteria and living room areas for patients. I was not that impressed with the attitude of most of the staff in this facility. Some do seem to work hard and care about their patients, but I met many with not so cheerful attitudes that didn't want to attend to their patients as often as necessary.

This a one story nice building.The grounds are well maintained.They have a large patio. courtyard, walking paths, and ramada areas and bbq. They have 23 independent residents and 19 assisted. The independent apartments are studio and one bedroom with full kitchens and assisted have studio and one bedroom with partial kitchens. All are handicapped equipped and have emergency pull cords in bathroom and living area. The interior is clean and nice. They have sitting areas, tv room. activity room, and a nice dining room for the assisted living residents. They have a hairdresser. The independent residents have a tray brought to there door. They offer 3 meals a day and snacks. Itis restaurant still menu with 2 entrees and an alternative. The food is good, They do 2 levels of care. They have a nurse practitioner who comes in weekly and on call. They have all licensed caregivers. They offer transport to doctors appointments if is set up in advance. The caregivers do assist with ADLS for assisted residents but the indepent living is basically offered emergency services. They do work with a home health agency as well. They offer housekeeping daily to all residents and laundry for assisted. They do in house activities as exercise, bingo, and other games. They do not take out to shopping but there is transport available that comes. The do birthday parties and other events. In my opion this is a nice clean facility but does not offer as much as could. They need more activities for all residents and a dining room for the independent residents. They are currently under construction so perhaps this will come. I would also say the staff seems good but there could be a more caring atmosphere.

My great grandmother stayed at the Devon Gables Assisted Living facility. I would visit her there at least twice a week and observe how the staff interacted with her and the overall condition of the place itself. I must say that I had very mixed feeling about this facility. While most of the staff is professional and considerate, I've come across one man in particular who was very short tempered. Each time a patient had a complaint, he would be very rude and short with them. You could tell he obviously hated his job and did NOT belong there. I am surprised that an assisted living community would hire people who lack patience and compassion, considering that these two are essential qualities for caregiving. I was a caregiver myself in the past, and I would never, under any circumstance treat clients with such disrespect. The facility itself, however, is very clean and nicely put together. There are many activities such as art, sports, and games that the patients can participate in to keep them from getting too bored. My great grandmother enjoyed this a lot about the facility. So, overall, Devon Gables is a decent facility that needs improvement in hiring their staff.
