About This Community

Our community offers the unique blend of senior living, senior recreation and the Granite Reef Senior Center, all in one location right in Scottsdale. This is truly an active, independent senior living community in beautiful surroundings, with elegant interior décor and amenities. We do include two meals a day, housekeeping, maintenance, all utilities except phone, transportation, lots of activities and entertainment and a great physical and brain fitness program.

As pretty as the brochure is, the community is much nicer. The very best thing about McDowell is the wonderful residents we have. They are truly a vibrant, energetic, charming group and are warm and welcoming to all our newcomers.

McDowell Village was a very enjoyable and beautiful place, but you have to come up with several thousand dollars to move in. The administration fees and rent add up. The hamburger I had there was good, and the staff was very helpful.

My mother has been in McDowell Village for three weeks now. It is a nice place, and she likes it. It is next to senior center. The staff is nice and like her. She has the biggest place there with two bedrooms, two baths, and a washer and dryer. There is an exercise room, pool, and games.

My dad stayed at McDowell Village. They couldn't get him the care that he required because he has a pretty high level of care. The food is good, and it's like in a restaurant. The facilities are nice and definitely handicap-accessible. They have a pool, gym therapy, and trips to grocery stores. The fee is rent and assisted living charge. The caregivers are extremely nice, but there are some issues with management.

McDowell Village seemed to be a very nice place. We vistied twice, and the staff was very helpful. The apartments were very nice, very clean, and bigger than I assumed. The dining room was nice and set up like a restaurant. They had a pool table and group activities, like exercise.
